Thank you for giving back to CMU students.
Rebecca Rees was a beloved American Sign Language professor at Central Michigan University for ten years. She was a driving force behind ASL studies and Deaf Awareness Events. At the beginning of November 2021, Becky passed away.
As we mourn the loss of our teacher and friend, we also commemorate all she gave us with the time she had. Becky leaves behind a legacy of compassion, a wonderful sense of humor, love for her students, and a desire to make her corner of the world a little brighter.
In her memory, the CMU ASL Department is proud to present the Rebecca Rees Scholarship Fund. This fund will serve to assist financing the education of students majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in American Sign Language.
“A little bit of understanding and compassion can go a long way in improving this world.”
– Rebecca Rees
