Donate to Fire Up for Sustainability

Help foster sustainability programs and educational efforts by donating to Fire Up for Sustainability. Central Sustainability makes the CMU community more sustainable through projects, policies, and programming focused on education, collaboration, and institutional growth. This funding helps students to take on high-impact projects that are creative, cutting edge and collaborative. Funding will allow students to plan more learning opportunities such as composting, building community gardens, hosting a farmer’s market, developing a rent-a-bike program, bringing speakers to campus, planning off-campus projects with the community and developing sustainability research and publications. Through education, Central Sustainability has helped increase CMU's overall waste diversion rate to 46%, the highest it has ever been and 25% higher than the Michigan average of 21%.
