Equip CMU students to be tomorrow's healthcare leaders.

This fund is dedicated to providing undergraduate students in the Health Administration major an opportunity for leadership, growth, and professional development opportunities beyond the campus in Mount Pleasant.

Established by Professor Mark Cwiek and Pat Cwiek in the Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions at CMU, the Health Administration Undergraduate Leadership Award aims to help students develop leadership skills through various activities. These include attending American College of Healthcare Executive meetings locally through the Michigan chapters and nationally at the annual Congress in Chicago, and competing in national Health Administration competitions, such as the Penn State Health Administration Case Competition and the Medical University of South Carolina Undergraduate Case Competition for Health Administration Programs – where CMU students have already been winners!

The team of students from CMU took home first place and $1,000 in the 2019 Medical University of South Carolina Case Competition. The team was made up of Olivia Arends, Kyle Chamberlain, Kayla Pung, and Catherine Young, and the Faculty Advisor was Dr. Nailya DeLelis.

CMU students were awarded First Place and the Best Presence Award at the 2021 Penn State Health Administration Case Competition. The team was made up of Kirsten Morey, Danielle King, Gabrielle Mifsud, and Makayla Wiltse.

Let's work together to equip our students to be tomorrow's healthcare leaders!
