Support CMU Geology, Environmental Science, and Meteorology majors!

Active involvement in professional societies is one of the most effective ways we can expose students to advanced practices and networking opportunities in their chosen discipline. To that end, the EAS Student Professional Development Fund (ESPDF) aims to broaden participation of CMU geology, meteorology, and environmental science majors in professional organizations aligned with their field of study (such as the Geological Society of America, American Meteorological Society, National Association of Environmental Professionals, or American Geophysical Union).

The transformative experience of attending a regional or national meeting where students interact with scientists and professionals in their chosen field can motivate them to excel in their coursework and finish their degree. Until now, opportunities like this were afforded to a select group of highly achieving students. With your financial support, the ESPDF can sponsor student memberships for all of our majors and substantially increase the number of students we send to meetings, regardless of whether they are making a presentation.

Join us in contributing to our students’ professional development and help us distinguish CMU’s Earth and Atmospheric Science programs from our peer institutions by donating to the newly established ESPDF now!
